The 9th "Asian Logistics and Maritime Conference," co-organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council and the Hong Kong SAR Government, will be held from November 19 to 20 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Nearly 70 experts and industry leaders in logistics and shipping will attend the conference and share their insights.
The President of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, Fang Shunwen, stated: "The Asia Logistics and Shipping Conference aims to provide the industry with a platform for learning, sharing, and communication, assisting them in expanding into new business areas and highlighting Hong Kong's advantages as a logistics, shipping, and air transport hub in the region."
On the first day of the conference, a total of eight forums were held, covering three main topics: shipping, supply chain management and logistics, and air transport.
The shipping and logistics forum focuses on geopolitical issues, smart shipping, and structural changes in the shipping industry. It invited several industry elites, including Li Anteng, Managing Director of Structured Finance at Standard Chartered Bank, Martin Stopford, President of Clarksons Research Services Ltd., Dong Lijun, Co-CEO of Orient Overseas Container Line Ltd., Chris Lee, Chairman of Vanda Shipping Ltd., and Fan Ge, Managing Director of Huaguang Shipping Holdings Ltd., to discuss the future development of the shipping industry from multiple perspectives.
Today, we will also focus on "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area: Challenges and Opportunities for Hong Kong's Shipping Industry" and hold a shipowners' forum.
At the forum, Wang Hong, Deputy General Manager of China Merchants Group Co., Ltd., will deliver a keynote speech and discuss the opportunities brought by the Greater Bay Area with Zhao Shiqing, Executive Chairman of Huaguang Shipping Holdings Co., Ltd., and Xu Jicao, Chairman of the Hong Kong Shipowners Association, to address the structural issues hindering Hong Kong's development.
